Tradition and progress in harmony

In both parts of the town there are numerous tradespeople from commerce, crafts and production. They make sure of a balanced range of products and services on offer. The commercial association Gewerbeverein Ginsheim-Gustavsburg e.V. represents the interests of the established member companies.

The town is traditionally shaped by a high proportion of manufacturing trade. One focus is on the manufacture of products for the automobile industry.

Hörmann Automotive Gustavsburg GmbH (formerly MAN) as an internationally active company manufactures chassis and bodywork components for trucks in its Gustavsburg works (ca. 900 employees), the US company Lear Corporation GmbH (ca. 300 employees) seat systems and door panelling for cars. Isuzu Motors Germany GmbH develops diesel engines for the European market here in its German headquarters with about 150 employees. SMG Stahlmagazin GmbH operates a logistics warehouse for Opel.

Bertrandt Ingenieurbüro GmbH (ca. 200 employees) and Inergy Automotive Systems Germany GmbH are further companies at the location specialised in the automobile branch. In addition, MBS Medical Business Solutions AG is among the modern technology-specialised companie.

Most persons in work in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg are today employed in the services, commerce and transport sectors. Among the larger companies in this sector is, among others, Meinhardt Städtereinigung GmbH & Co. KG (waste disposal, recycling of valuable substances) with about 150 employees at the Ginsheim-Gustavsburg location. In the logistics sector, among others, companies such as Frankenbach GmbH, Garant Spedition und Logistik, HTAG Häfen- und Transport AG are to be found. The wholesale businesses Pfeiffer&May and Eugen König GmbH have established branches. In 2014, DHL opened its first mechanised delivery base in Hesse in Ginsheim-Gustavsburg.

The town of Ginsheim-Gustavsburg tries intensively to help with the starting up of new existences. Together with the district administration, the town of Rüsselsheim and banking institutions, the company TIGZ Technologie-, Innovations- und Gründungszentrum was brought into being. This company has succeeded in establishing numerous innovative and forward-looking companies in the environmental, information and communication technology, handicraft and service sectors in the Gustavsburg part of the town.
